Our Story.
Charles and Helen Lee have been a trusted name in high-quality and designer eyewear in London, Ontario since 1997. With a passion for craftsmanship and a deep commitment to customer care, they built Cross-Eyed Optical to be more than just an optical store—it’s a place where expertise, design, and personal service come together.
Before launching in London, Charles spent 8 years in Toronto, where he was mentored by some of the best in the business. He had the rare opportunity to work alongside three of the four custom frame artisans in the city, mastering the art of handcrafting lenses and frames. Inspired by that experience, he set out to bring the same level of precision and artistry to his own community.
In 1997, Charles opened the first Cross-Eyed Optical location across from Fanshawe College, offering designer brands like DKNY, Calvin Klein, and Christian Dior. Just a few years later, in 2000, the store moved to Richmond Street, where for the next 15 years, Charles continued to handcraft custom eyewear and build a loyal customer base.
In 2015, Cross-Eyed Optical moved to its current location on Wonderland Road, continuing the tradition of offering exceptional service, unique eyewear, and personalized fittings. Every frame we carry is selected for its quality, design, and customization potential—many of which you won’t find anywhere else.
